Virtues Life
How was the decision of working for a legacy practice different from being at the
institutes before?
Our Eye Institute is a practise that has now even seen the 4th generation of eye doctors in the
family with a robust 99 years in the field. It’s because of them that i left an institutional practise
last year and I am currently trying to make my own identity in the field.
“I couldn’t have been more fortunate to have become a part of this huge legacy”

Where do you draw your sense of fashion from?
So a lot of my purview on fashion comes from my Mother, who had an eye for details and style;
hence she was quite particular about the way she would dress and layer her clothes. So I grew
up very differently in that sense, and I used to frequent Virtues since a very young age with her
and sort of absorbed this taste subconsciously over the years.

As a busy medico with your own practice, where does your equation with fashion lie?
So, if you see me at work it’s all about how my patients are doing and how the procedures come
along than about my look. Which also makes me sort of inspired to dress up and feel like a
different person. Since I’m aware that I’m in two very different zones when I’m at work, and
when I’m not
“Its a switch Off & On thing for me”

Speaking of your wardrobe choices, how was the experience of getting your wedding
trousseau made with Studio Virtues
Making my outfits here have always been gratifying – a ‘feel good thing’. So I noticed it about
myself when I was trying to find my bridal wear; for me it was more important to wear something
that is one of a kind, more than just having a label to it. That’s when I realized how much of the
custom made part of it is important to me.
The fact that when I’m out there and no one has seen it before, it gives a thrill to the look.

What would you say is your favorite form of everyday styling, while you’re at work?
At work it’s mostly scrubs and all about simplicity, but I love styling my days with my glasses. I
have a large collection of glasses, each one is a little different than the other. So you can say it’s
a hack to compensate for the lack of fashion in my field of expertise.
Lastly, what’s a family heirloom that you simply adore, and hold very dear to your heart?
There’s this beautiful green elephant print Banarasi saree hand crafted in banaras itself, in the
late 1930s, that my great grandmother wore on her wedding day. It was one made of real gold
and silver back in those days. It’s a saree that has been passed on to the daughters of the
family generation after generation. It was last worn by my mother for her baby shower. I’m still
waiting to find the perfect occasion for it and hoping it stands tall with me one last time!
